Hyperstone is a mineral belonging to the pyroxene group and has a dark gray to blackish color with often a subtle, silvery luster. Hyperstone is found worldwide in areas with a lot of volcanic or metamorphic activity. The name hyperstone comes from the Greek word hyper which means above or superior and sthenos which means strength or power.
