Fluorite is a mineral that occurs in a variety of colors, including purple, green, blue, yellow, pink, and even colorless. It is known for its clear and transparent appearance, but can also be opaque.
An octahedron is a three-dimensional figure with eight equilateral triangular faces. This is similar to two pyramids with a square base joined together. This is one of the most common forms in which fluorite crystallizes, alongside the cube.
