Blue chalcedony, also known as blue lace agate or avalonite, is a beautiful stone with a soft, sky-blue color that evokes a clear sky or calm sea. The mineral can occur in various shades of blue, ranging from light blue to dark blue. The stone usually has a waxy to glassy luster. The blue color of blue chalcedony can be attributed to small amounts of iron and manganese in the mineral.
