Prehnite is a calcium aluminum silicate mineral and is usually light green to yellow-green in color. Prehnite can be transparent to translucent and is often found in aggregates of small, rounded nodules or as massive stones. The mineral is named after Dutch Colonel Hendrik von Prehn, who first described it.
Epidote is a green mineral belonging to the sorosilicate group. It is named after the Greek word "epidosis," meaning "increase," because of the mineral’s tendency to grow on other minerals. Epidote often occurs as prismatic or crystal-like formations and is green to greenish in color. This color is due to the presence of iron in the mineral.
