Fluorite is a mineral that occurs in a variety of colors, including purple, green, blue, yellow, pink and even colorless. It is known for its clear and transparent appearance, but can also be opaque.
An octahedron is a three-dimensional shape with eight equilateral triangular faces. It is similar to two pyramids joined at their square bases. This is one of the most common forms in which fluorite crystallizes, alongside the cube.
